Fox Safety:

Foxes are generally not dangerous to humans, but there are some key things you should know to avoid getting hurt by this beautiful animal. Usually, it is some red colour, and only reaching sizes of 10kg, a fox will usually avoid attacking anything larger than itself. But they are not unlikely to bite if they feel threatened, like many other animals. Make sure you are not feeding foxes, as this will make them more accustomed to people. Then, if something does trigger them, they will be more likely to initiate a bite. Although a fox bite is easily treated by visiting your doctor or an emergency room, foxes often carry diseases like rabies, which can be dangerous to be in contact with. When a fox does get close, it makes lots of noise to scare the fox away. Avoid attracting foxes to your yard by keeping pet food out of it.
