Moose Safety:

The chances of seeing a moose in BC are generally pretty good, with about 115,000 to 192,000 moose in the province. The bulls (male moose) can reach heights of up to 6 to 7 feet and weigh up to 725 kg, with large antlers. Moose are generally not aggressive, but it is essential to give them their space and avoid approaching them. If they do charge you, run and hide behind something solid. If the solid object is knocked down, curl up in a ball and protect the neck. They are not interested in hurting or killing you as they are herbivores. The antlers are primarily used for establishing dominance during the breeding season and for tracking mates, and they are shed annually. The antlers can weigh up to 36.3 kg, and some reach lengths of 6 feet.
